Please read this announcement in full. It contains information you will need regarding 2012 NW ISGB Regional Retreat. Registration is now open for our 2012 Retreat to be held at Pilchuck Glass School. Here is the link to the Registration Form.

We have a few details that we are still working out with Pilchuck and once the agreement is signed we will be able to announce your secured spot and will deposit your checks.  Here are some of the details of the retreat below. As we know more, you will receive announcements and everyone with a secured spot will receive an orientation packet by email and forms from Pilchuck that will need to be returned.

2012 Retreat details are the following.
Planned number of attendees is thirty (30).
ISGB membership is a requirement to attend the Retreat.

Date: Friday, April 27th to Sunday April 29, 2012.
Our schedule will be packed full of demos and classes. We will also have open torch time for people to try out what is demonstrated. We will be able to torch late into both nights. Everyone can arrive starting at 4:30pm on Friday, starting at 6pm everyone will meet for hors d'oeuvres in lodge and our first official demos will start at 7pm. Saturday and Sunday we will buzzing busy right up till we will depart at 3pm.

Registration will be by Regular USPS Mail, please no overnight. Priority registration will be to current members as of today, January 27th and postmark date of mailing. After February 3, 2012 registration priority will be by post mark date.

Cost: $375.00
You may pay in full at time of registration or pay deposit amount of $200.00 with your  Balance due on 3/30/12.

This cost covers:
Meals, use of tools and torches.  All demos, mini classes, some class supplies and glass. Needed materials lists will be provided well in advance. Dorm housing (2 persons per room), No single, private rooms or private baths are available. All rooms are heated and simply furnished with twin beds and a desk. No camping or commuting is permitted.

If you want to upgrade from the Dorm to Cottages, an additional charge of $50.00 (there are only 12 cottage beds available) Cottages will be given to those first 12 requests.

   * Dormitory Housing - Basic student housing consists of an eighteen room(double occupancy) dormitory, with two shared large central restrooms. The
dormitory is located less than a five-minute walk up the hill. (we will be allowed to have one or two cars for those with special mobility needs to have access to drive between housing and activity's.

   * Cottage Housing - There are two cottage dorms on campus with three attached cottages. Each cottage consists of two rooms (double-occupancy) separated by a bathroom which is shared by the four residents. With greater privacy and closer proximity to studios, cottage rooms are recommended for older participants and carry an additional fee.

Meals will consist of:
Friday Evening:  hors d'oeuvres (6pm)
Saturday:  Breakfast, lunch, dinner (8am, 12:30pm, 6pm)
Sunday:  Breakfast and lunch (8am, 12:30pm)
Coffee, tea, snacks, etc. will be  available through-out the day.
There are soda machines on the grounds for those who are pop drinkers.

Activities:
During our past retreats we have had the use of 8 to 10 torches and it has worked just fine. We will have 12 torches (mini CC's, I believe) set up for our use at Pilchuck.  Some people will be working on the projects that they learned in the mini classes and others will be on the torches during the open torch time.  We will be able to stay up as late into the night as we want. Some people will stay up late and others will turn in at a reasonable time.

Pratt Fine Art Center in Seattle always has classes scheduled in lamp working (hard and soft glass), fusing and glass blowing. Classes are taught by Stacy Frost, Cheryl Matson, Ellen Harbison and Leslie Thiel (to name just a few!)
