West Central Member Updates:
I had a wonderful conversation with Deborah Carlson. She had an article published about her and her artwork in Glass Line magazine, (www.hotglass.com or glassline.net), October/November 2011 Volume 25, Number 3 Pages 8 and 9 and wanted to share her news! The article is about her "Hangups" which are wearable sculpture ranging from 2" to 3" in height and 2" to 2 1/2" in width. They are all blown and hand sculpted. The chain can be threaded through the sleeves or arm holes and worn or some have pins on the back to be worn as brooches. The Babes of Summer is a shadow box and the bathing suits are about 2 1/2" high of various women's bodies. Those can be taken off the hanger and worn. A couple of photos are below! The blue shirt is called a "Blue Collar Hangup" The white shirt is a "White Collar Hangup". She has made lots of these in all different types of clothing. A big thank you to Deborah Carlson for sharing her art with us.
