The International Society of Glass Beadmakers Board of Directors is requesting proposals for lectures, demonstrations, and Instructors for its 2011 conference in Louisville, Kentucky incorporating the theme Diversity & Creativity: Cultural Influences in Glass Beadmaking. Proposals are due June 30, 2010.

Louisville has been known as the City of Possibilities. Known as the birthplace of Muhammad Ali and Thomas Edison and boasting the largest Victorian neighborhood, Louisville is located along the Ohio River on the Kentucky-Indiana border.

Louisville balances longstanding traditions with an increasingly progressive way of life, embraces diverse cultural roots, and mixes urban excitement with cozy neighborhoods and resplendent natural areas. Steeped in history and rich with cultural amenities, Louisville offers the charming character of a city’s past nestled within a thriving modern metropolis.

From the classic experience of the Churchill Downs, visiting downtown Fourth Street, exploring the Belle of Louisville or having a customized baseball bat made by the Louisville Slugger-Louisville is filled with museums, attractions, music, theater, special events and more. It’s unique location and geography has made Louisville a cosmopolitan hub of transportation, commerce, and cultural exchange for centuries. There is always something to see and do in Louisville.

Please Note: Lecturers and Demonstrators from the 2009 and 2010 ISGB Gatherings will NOT be eligible to present at the 2011 Gathering. 2011 Gathering will only be offering limited pre-conference classes; no post conference classes will be available.
