    Default Toolbox Kiln for sale!

I have a slightly used toolbox kiln for sale! I don't know how many hours I have used it, but have annealed less than 40-50 beads in it, and it looks like new. This kiln has the analog pyrometer. I am just selling it because I am buying a kiln that I can also do fusing/pmc in, and can't afford to keep both of them. This kiln is great for someone who is just interested in annealing beads!

Price is $425 including shipping to the continental US. I prefer paypal or M/O.

    Thanks!

Is this the Chili Pepper toolbox kiln? How old is it and what did you pay for it?

Also, what kiln does one need to do fusing? I currently just do lampworked beads and I need a kiln, but I might want to do fusing in the future, too.

Do you still have this kiln? And, if so, could you tell me who is was purchased from, or made by? I am presently interested in this type of kiln. Also, what size is the complete unit. Can you send a photo?

    Thank you!!

I should have been more specific; this is the Don Mckinney toolbox kiln, not the chilipepper kiln. Also, I think I will lower the price to $410 including shipping. They cost $450 new. It is practically new and has not been used very much. It is very large and you can fit a lot of beads in it!!

There is a picture of it here:

but the one in the picture has the digital controller ($675) and mine has the analog pyrometer. This kiln would be good for someone who can't afford the digital version right now, but might add one later. You can get a digital controller later that will work with any kiln.

Also, I live in St. Louis, MO if anyone happens to live close by!

    Thanks,
    Patti

I can't remember exactly when I bought it, but it is less than 6 months old. I have been busy with school and haven't had too much time to make beads. Also I just got my Lynx torch 3 weeks ago, and wasn't making too many beads before that.

To do fusing, you need a kiln that will reach those higher temperatures and be able to stay at those temps for a while. The toolbox kiln is not meant to go above 1000-1200 degrees or so. You would also need a firebrick kiln for fusing, and the toolbox kiln has the fiber lining. But it is perfect for annealing beads.
