Default Ofilia\'s Garage Sale, phase 1

Okay, this is much overdue, as I tend to be a glass and tool hoarder beyond necessity. It's time to see if my excesses can benefit others. As much as I would like to say I can afford to have "give away" prices, I have to be practical. I need the funds to pay off other bills.

Video: "Nature in Glass", the private world of Paul J Stankard 28 minutes $12, this video is not a technical one. More about history of paperweights.

Bubacco designed lampwork torch, smaller version. Has seven ports. $400. Needs a stand if you like, otherwise, it can be mounted into a table as you see in my website pictures of Lucio's studio set up. You can see one in action on my webiste under 2002 Murano section. http://www.ofiliaartglass.com It would be the equivalent to a Minor, only these torches are specific to the Venetian style of work. They physically get very hot. Flame wise they are significantly softer and ideal for sculptural work in soft glass. I have a larger version (like the one you see Lucio using) that I am keeping and had Arrow Springs make a base for it. A standard torch top ring clamp marver can also be used. This basic torch is just two nobs, and has two nipples at the bottom, as you can see in various pictures of Lucio's studio. It's either brass or bronze? Like I said, it gets hot, but we managed to work it fine in our long day workshops there.

Arrow Springs Temperature Controller ASC/3 New, "virgin" condition! $385. I never used it and has been sitting around for almost three years now. Time someone who really needs it uses it.

Glastar Variable speed grinder. #B12V (#33506) 1/3 HP, 115 V, 12" pads, 120 grit, 400 grit, Diamond resin pad, Polishing pad, Steel Blank for B12 disc drive (don't ask, I have no idea what this is - just going off my invoice) Coolant recirculating pump, Coolant EZ-grind/one gallon You can see it at http://www.glastar.com/catalog/beveling/B12.cfm I paid $1640 plus $57 in shipping for the whole unit. I never used it, as my studio is just not big enough for such a set up, and my dusty garage is inhabited by way too many spiders for me to work out there only seasonally. I'm taking best reasonable offer on this. The boxes are heavy, and shipping will proably be about what I paid for it to anyplace in the states.

Carlo Dona Large V-shape Duck Bill holder $75 You can see one in Frant's site, look under Carlo Dona manufacturer.

    Glass- Effetre:

    Alabaster pink #380 & 372 total of 6lbs. 3oz $10.50 lb.

    Transparent:
056- dk. blue and 052 lt. blue and 064 black $7.50 lb.

"Satin glass" green rods, color is similar to 022 grass green medium, sort of chartreuse, $7 lb. This glass is sensitive to work. It likes a soft flame. The softer, the more you keep the "satin" look, or it developes nice little overall tiny bubbles. It is a hollow rod.

    Opaque:
432 Red, 444 Chestnut lt. and 428 reddish orange $$10 lb.

    Goldstone $50 lb.

I have some odd lot coralito- the tequila sunrise color....$12 a quarter pound. Sorry, but if I don't sell this one, I won't mind, because I really like it.

    Filigrana:
I have 6 pounds of assorted colors (228-green, 248 dk blue, 240 pink, 208 white) $21 lb. If I have to separate the colors, I will, but I prefer to sell the whole lot. These colors have the white core, btw.

    Filigrana black $21 lb.

I do not take pay-pal. I will provide a receipt for your business expenses, I can take certified check or credit card. If you are in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin or Massachusetts, I have to charge tax, unless you have a resale number.

Hope I have stuff some of you can use! Please remember, I may have delay's in getting back to you, as I work a full time job during the week.

Hi Kristen, please forgive my type-o. If you ever saw my handwritten notes, you would understand why even I have a hard time reading them . My notes were a comparison of Frantz, AS and C&R Loo to derive a price.

The correct price for the goldstone (aventurine) rod is $30 per lb.
I also can add some more glass to the above list:

    Goldstone (aventurine) filigrana $22 lb.

Mother of pearl CANE $24 lb. I have purple 1# 15 oz, pink 9 oz, tan 1 oz, brown 9 oz

    Video:

Milon Townsend, "Flameworking with Dichroic Glass" $13

    Books:

Elizabeth Ryland Mears, "Flameworking, Creating Glass Beads, Sculptures & Functional Objects" $20

James Kervin, "More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About Glass Beadmaking", 1994 edition, $15

Miscelaneous colors of CBS dichro on regular thickness Effetre glass cut in 3/8 strips.
Lenghs vary from 5-6" $1 ea.

Pattern Effetre on thin CBS dichro, 8" lenths $2.50 ea.

Minolta 35mm camera XG-A with Tokina SZ-X 28-200mm lens, Toshiba UV filter, and Kalimar vinyl carrying case $130.

Yes it is, just drop me an e-mail, it's yours ! Please note, that this edition, maybe his first one- as it makes no reference to "which" edition it is, does not have all the pretty color "gallery" pictures his newer editions do. Technically, it's overwhelming with valualable information! Jim is an expert at gathering and presenting technical information that is easy to comprehend. Thank you for inquiring .

Thank you all for the interest in the dichroic and MOP. Those are all sold out.
The video's are also sold out. !

I hope that if you are not in need of any of the above items, perhaps you know of anyone who would be thinking of such equipment. I hate to have it not be used, and my dentist is waiting to present me with a tidy bill for some work my crummby teeth will be needing . It never fails, does it .

Get those teeth fixed NOW! I sit here with one missing (formerly a 30 year old root canal and crown) waiting the four months that it takes for the implant to be well established in the jawbone so that they can put in the post that the new tooth (fake) will sit on. Expensive? Oh yeah! Will it be a relief to have the new tooth in - more than I can express.

Dear RMJANE, I have not heard from you. Are you still interrested in Jim Kervin's book? You can find my address in my profile. It's okay if you changed your mind, but I just need to know one way or the other. I appreciate it very much!

All the satin glass is also sold. Thanks !

Okay, what breaks my heart most, is that no one is interested in a 35mm camera any more! I understand the craze with "digital", but in my honest opinion, the ART photography is really the 35mm type! This new digital stuff is what I term "augmented" photography. I remember the pleasure of photography and darkroom work with my old Cannon back in my youth (the camera that weighs as much as it's name , and that I won't sell due to sentimental value ). The cool effects of film is "priceless" comparable to digital (I'm copying off the Master Card commercials ).

In hopes that perhaps someone out there has a child or nephew or niece at the age where they are starting to play with photography, I'm offering the whole camera set up (has macro capacity) for $65!! I just hope that the "art of true photography" does not die away in light of digital . This camera is ready for a good home ....
