Hi Tonia ! hope you enjoyed your trip (and the food) there !
Thanks for the compliments too ! *blush*
I use a Lynx now, and unfortunately it will take a bit more practice before I get the same even dots, let alone beads... this new torch works so fast I still have a little hard time to adjust. My stringer control just sucks for example, but to my surprise, encasing seems a lot easier.

Here are my little offerings for the week. Bear in mind I've only been at this two months, so my beads are nothing like as good as all of yours. But I try, and each day I learn something. "Scuse my photos, I forgot to turn on the fill flash. The cloud dome is the next thing I set up! The cats on the bottom are seal-point siamese, brown cheeks and turquoise eyes.

Here are some new experiments that I am working on. The glass is moretti, using an overlay technique, and pixie dust.

    cutest frog!

Coyote...those cats of yours are really cute, they have wonderful charm and personality(imo). I really really (!) like them a lot.

and what can be said about Pearson's complexly beautiful and intricate beads, but they look expertly done and exquisite.

    Thanks for the inspiration everyone.

All of this work is great. I am such a dot person ... Dustin and Brad's work just speaks to me in some way.

Do either of you have a line-up of places you plan to teach over the next few months? I really need to take a class.

    Bergina,

I don't know where you are located. I do teach a weekly class at a local art center ( Richmond VA ). I also am teachinhg a one-day workshop at Cristallo gallery in Williamsburg. That's the official list for this year. Right now I am planning the schedule for next year, so if anyone wants to host a class let me know. I have a teaching studio where private and group lessons are avaliable most weekends, you would just need to contact me for my schedule. Those are also held in Richmond, VA.

    Hi Bergina,

I also have a few classes coming up as well. I will be in St. Louis teaching at Sorella Beads in January, and it looks like I may be in the Chicago area teaching around March. And I will also be teaching a two day class at the 2004 ISGB Gathering in Portland.

if you need more info let me know,

Such beautiful work, everyone! Thanks for all the inspiration! And Brad, those are the most astonishing "pixie dust" beads I have ever seen. Usually, I look at pixie dust and it kind of makes me yawn--but your beads make me want to drag out my supply of those little bitty packets and play around some more...

Here are a couple of beads from last night's batch:

    http://www.petemacko.org/PicORama/Pi...m=2&p=530&a=35

    http://www.petemacko.org/PicORama/Pi...m=2&p=529&a=35

The perspective in the night-sea bead kept changing as I worked it, i.e., the tide kept rising and the sky receding, but I guess that's okay. The second one is a lentil (sort of) made up of a kitchen sink of metals and glass--the gold dots are dots of silver wire with dots of clear on top of them.

Keep posting, everyone--this is fun, as always!
