    Default Online Beadmaking Demo

On Jan 20 at 1 PM Mountain Standard Time there will be a free lampworking demo. The demo will be to test a system Crystal Myths is working with to find out how feasable it will be to do classes over the internet, live.
This first demo will be 90 minutes. The first 30 minutes Lewis C Wilson will make soft glass beads. He will also be using an OSGI oxygen generator as the oxy source. So if you wonder about using a generator then this may answer some questions. This first part will be VERY basic, truely for beginners. It will show the basics of simple soft glass mandrel beadmaking.
The second 30 minutes will be on moving into borosilicate glass and will show work done with a lynx and borosilicate glass. This will move quiclky from an intro into doing simple boro beads to doing fast production boro beads.
The third 30 minutes will be Gerry Colman making a soft glass marble. He is one of the best at teaching the first attemts at marble making.
The entire 90 minutes will be shot through didynium filters and feel free to copy and share with friend. There will be a disclaimer about copying with intent to sell.
This is done just to check out this system. It is free to you. You will need to go to http://www.crystalmyths.com . On the home page click on button saying " Click here for webcam ".
When inside you will asked to enter your e-mail and then enter.
In the future we hope to use this system to have classes and demos where people would pay for a three or four hour demo either with a code or credit card.

Awesome idea! I can't wait to try it. It's not always easy to find good instruction close at hand, so thanks for another resource! I hope it all works out! Good Luck -

Lewis, what a great idea! However, I just went to the website, and cannot find any reference to a web cam. Is this available for Mac computers? Thanks, DeLane

When the spot on my web site is installed, then activated, it will route viewers to Playstream.com. This is the major server that will be able to absorb all these visits at the same time.
The way the system works is that I will be billed as viewers are routed, or they will just hit a wall and nothing will happen----untill Jan 20 at 1 PM Mountain Standard Time.
We will activate the button on my web site 10 or 15 minutes before the actual telecast. The button will be installed either a few hours or a day before.
Right now my entire web site is being rebuilt. It will have a new look and a new way of presenting who is in our shows.
For a quick preview go to the site anr click on bead shows and scroll down to the new Boston Area Show.
In that section click on where it says " click here to see the ad for the Boston Area Show".
The logo at the top of that ad is our new business logo and will be the main part of our new web site.We will also be listing a picture of each exhibitor's work or what they import or sell at the Boston Show.
So--hit my site Jan 20 right before 1 PM MST and then hopefullt you will be able to see.
I am still not convinced this will work.

We are still scheduled for tomorrow at 1 PM MST. That is noon Calif and 3 in NY. Go to http://www.crystalmyths.com a few minutes before 1 PM and sign in.
There will be a button on web site home page. Click and enter. It is free. Lewis C Wilson will make soft glass beads and then boro beads and then Jerry Colman will make a soft glass marble.

    Lewis:

This sounds really neat, however, for those of us that have to work, will we be able to download the demo later?

That's a really good question. There are no programs that will allow one to schedule a surf and 'save', that I'm aware of and I've been looking.

There is one possibility that I'm going to try out tomorrow. I'll be present when it starts and I'll try the following little utility:
