I received a bead on a bobbin at Hot Times; it's very cool!

I saw somewhere that someone was selling bobbins for this but have never seen any of the beads. Can you post a picture of your bobbin bead, Nolly? I'm really curious.

The bobbins are available at Walmart, I've heard, and cheap too--like ten for $2.

It's tucked away in my goodies from Hot Times, but I'll find it and post for you. I'll see if I can't find the artist's name, too!

I love your pendants, fun and attention grabbing ... they'll be a winner at your next show!

Well the charms were a flop at bead and button, I really thought I'd sell a bunch of the bead themed ones (ah well). We got bobbins at walmart to try last month and they must be some kind of aluminum mix they spark way more than older bobbins do. I haven't been very successful.

Fun necklaces, Nic! Wow, love that bridal piece, Nolly.

I have nothing to show . . . just got back from Switzerland last week. I need to melt some glass to get ready for my classes at Blue Moon end of the month and BABE show next month!

My friend, Elena Tucker, gave me a couple of bobbins at the SGB NorCal bead bazaar at Arrow Springs last month. I haven't used them yet but her pendant of three bobbins stacked together was very cool. She told me she got them at Walmart, Nic, so I am not sure if they are different from the ones you got there?

OK - it's into the next week but I finally finished this bead embroidery bracelet with one of my lampworked cabs for the center piece. Haven't made too many beads but have to get to it!

That's beautiful, Deb. You sure have taken to the bead embroidery in a big way!

The bobbin that I received from Lysa Ricks at Hot Times is blackened with no fancy finish. I imagine that the shiny coating burns away in the flame. This particular bobbin is flat with 10 little holes around the circumference; not like the semi-curved, solid sides that Singer bobbins have.

Arrow Springs is now carrying the bobbins - my order should be here soon. As soon as I have time to get to the torch, I'll let everyone know how they worked.
