I am getting ready to go to Portland for the Portland Bead Society Bazaar. I have been working on engraving some old cane. Here are a few beads that I have just finished.

WOW! Laura, those are wonderful - thank you so much for posting the pictures. I am hopeful to get to the Portland Show. Doesn't look promising at this point, but I am still trying.

The old cane is such a terrific idea - as always, I LOVE seeing your pieces!

Beautiful beads Laura!!! I like the barbell shape for the chevron - new take!

Did you pull those canes yourself?

    thanks Kendra,
the show is for RAGS. It's a fundraiser for the YMCA. there is a local group of women that help support the "Y" Basically it's a women for women support.
They clear out the Tacoma/Fife Mercedes show room and move in some really great artists. They have a boutique kind of show. There also is a portion that the artist enters just a few pieces, that are high gallery quality. It's a way to support a good cause and get noticed with the local galleries.
I'll try to add a photo.

    Laura-
    Nice beads!
For those of you not familiar with Laura's work, it's really beautiful and has a lovely texture to it. It's nice to see how her work is evolving.

    OK San,
My challenge is to get this phot on the site.

I'm failing at my attempt to post a photo. I need to resize it. I can't seem to find how to do that right now.
Since the photo is over 2 M in size it won't work

I did a class over the weekend with Robert Mickelsen at Flametree in Atlanta.
Here's my first attempt at arachnid sculpture. It's a little under 3 inches long.

This is serious fun - I've got plans for a series of sculptural fungi taken from images that I've made here at work.
