Okay, I've tried everything I can for now. I'll take another look tomorrow, but at least we have the techniques section open and when the new website starts everything should be fine.

Thanks, Kimberly for checking for me, and thanks Maureen for letting me know.

Originally that section was intended to be read only so the "presentation" did not get lost/corrupted in the "heat" of discussion.....

I am going to post a tutorial and I hope the discussion about it doesn't get too heated. I just hope it get used and helps someone out. Headed over there right now!

Pam, will the new site allow easy access to posting? I was so excited when this version came up since this was supposed to be easy to post, but after several hours and many, many tries, I was never able to post things here.

    Kimberly,

I've never posted the "gold-web" technique, not here or anywhere else, so I don't think I'd have told you to search the archives for it. I have demonstrated it once at Arrow Springs, but not recently, and I suspect nobody noticed what I was doing at the time. There isn't all that much interest in it. The "silver web" technique is far more difficult and I've not posted or demonstrated that either. When my current inventory is gone that will likely be the last of them both.

Vince, I took it upon myself to search the archives. You response to me was that you had responded to the same question from someone else (I cannot remember her name). So, I tried to look it up in the archives, searching for both the name of the technique and the name of the person you indicated you had responded to. In your response to me you did not indidcate that you had not posted the techique. My bad for not being clear enough.

And now, I am trying to find my original question to you, I am not having any success. I probably dreamed the whole thing.

Ahhh, Kimberly, vivid imaginations and dreams are such a bonus when you are a glass beadmaker!

    Kimberly,

hmmmm... Well, I don't remember the exchange so it must have been forever ago. But, in any event, the technique has NOT been posted, so I would not bother to look for it. I once considered doing so and even made beads and photos of each step in the process, but never went farther than that. All that is now gone, the beads discarded and the photos who knows where, as everything I have related to bead making is now in storage and I am spending more time sailing.

Two experienced sailors in a good boat lost their lives in a race on Saturday just outside the Golden Gate and we don't yet know why or how. One body has been found and perhaps only traces of the boat and there is no hope of finding the other sailor alive at this time. It's dangerous out there sometimes - even for very experienced folks.
