There's nothing ominous about it - where did you get that? As I said, I think the reason people left was that they couldn't post photos without hosting them on their own site, and they could do that on WC and LE.

Hi Maureen,

I'm not sure what you are talking about that you can't post in the tools and techniques portion. Is it locked? I can't see that, but if it is locked, I can unlock it.

And work is being done on the website. Hopefully it will be up really soon, but I have said that since December. We have another website up, but there is some problem with moving the forum from the way it was first set up. Our website people are trying to overcome some of the problems without having to trash this whole forum and set up a new one, thus losing all the information here. My understanding is that it has been incredibly difficult for various reasons, but is close to fruition - so, just because you haven't seen it yet, doesn't mean it's not being worked on. It was actually started in the fall.

I appreciate your offer to help, Maureen, and we may take you up on it at some point, but right now the new website will be overseen by the people who built it, at least for a while. Now if we can just get it up and running!!

Those two are locked for me also.

I am very curious as to what happened to the old archives. I have searched in vain for a post by Vince regarding his gold web beads. Way back, I asked him if he ever posted the instructions for these beads and he directed me to search the archives. Unfortunately, the information was not and is not to be found. I have checked back many times over the last few years. Nothing to be found. Sigh.............. LOL! I'm afraid to ask him again!

Hi Kimberly, Unfortunately the old archives are gone. They could not survive in today's world. Our present website has holes all in it which has been exploited by hackers, spammers, etc., because of the way it was built, and the old archives were even worse. My understanding - it was done while I was not on the board - was that hackers were invading the website and hosting spam pages on our server by way of the archives. The archives were taken away and it was okay for a while. What has actually happened to the archives, where they are, I don't know.

What about the locked subforum - techniques and tools?? Any chance of getting them unlocked?? There is only one post in the techniques forum and I am pretty sure there are a lot of beadmakers out there that could contribute!
