Ofilia, I agree wholeheartedly that Gwynne is a treasure to the ISGB community! I really wish she had been there at the beginning of Trajectories too - she is a true professional with boundless energy.

I don't believe it was the intent of anyone involved with Trajectories to neglect the artists who entered. There were some huge obstacles to overcome and unforseen changes in the course of things during that time period that it just didn't allow for the feedback process to happen and I can only speak for myself when I express regret. The jurors are in no way responsible for this, it wasn't included in their instructions or materials provided. That is why Jim's article was so wonderful to see as he was able to give some insight into the jurying process of the show and to perhaps provide some closure on that end of things.

There were things that I wish could have gone differently with Trajectories and there are things that turned out really wonderfully and I was glad to be able to be there during this part of the ISGB's and The Bead Museum's history.

Carol, please know that we realize you all did your best and we are really thrilled by the exhibit. It is wonderful. I think what we are getting now is not unlike contructive criticism. Being a Pieces, I see both sides of the issue, and it is an issue with many different viewpoints for many different reasons. I think if a beadmaker demands feedback from every show they enter, they will be entering few shows. I can honestly see the viewpoint that says all identities should be kept secret, and yet I can also see the point of view of others with regard to this issue. Gwynne is our executive director and has said how it will be now within ISGB, which I think is great, but we cannot hold all to that high a standard. Please understand that this is no reflection on the wonderful Trajectories exhibit. You all were wonderful, I am sure, to work with and the Trajectories exhibt is a fantastic representative of what all beadmakers strive to be involved with.

And thank you, Jim, for writing, once again, such a wonderful article that stimulated a great discussion.

I hope I wasn't sounding too defensive - this thread brought back some issues (and a little PTSD )and I may have taken it a little too personally!

Now, just as an ISGB'er, I am so excited to see the caliber of the new exhibitions and hope to participate in the future at the artist end of things!
